Grimwade used to be an old town settlement. There are still signs of the old life with fruit trees and rubble where houses use to be. We stayed here the first time we took the van away. We though we were being very adventurist at the time.
This time the Blackberries were everywhere and thick, best of all they were ripe. Out came the containers and this time we filled them up. We had blackberry crumble. Blackberry pancakes. Blackberries on our porridge and still there were more. There was so many we froze about a kg. We only stayed 2 nights, as the midges were everywhere. Both mornings we woke up with bites all over our bodies. With the scratches from the blackberry bushes and the midge’s bites we both looked a mess.
